We'll visit the Ouma Rooi Koeksister factory, where the art of making these cherished South African treats has been passed down through generations. Started by Jeanette van der Westhuizen ("Ouma Rooi"), the tradition continued with her daughter Gerda and now her granddaughter Jeanelle, along with her husband Johann, who operate the factory in Cape Town. Despite being called a factory, it's more like a large kitchen where batches of koeksisters are lovingly handmade, preserving the authentic Ouma Rooi taste. During the tour, Johann will guide us through the process, and we'll even have the opportunity to twist some koeksisters ourselves!
After the tour, we'll head to Vida e Cafe nearby for the interactive and fun Let's Go See pop quiz!
